AWESOME, INTERDIVISIONAL HYBRID AURELIAN LILY Awesome is 6-8 feet, a tall lily with downfacing flowers and flaring petals that are rich orange colored with a red reverse. Super fragrant and vigorous. Blooms in mid-July here and needs full sun or part shade, they lean over if planted in too much shade. The Inter-Divisional lilies are seedlings form a complex cross involving species and cultivars from different divisions in the Lily classification. Divisions are groupings of lily species that are closely related, inter-divisional lilies are not closely related and do not cross easily. The ancestry consists of various Aurelian species and cultivars and L. speciosum, L. japonicum and L. rubellum in the Oriental division. Fragrant Trumpet lilies are very vigorous and easy, supposedly they do well in alkaline soils, they may need protection from late spring frost. They do not produce offsets or bulblets readily. Zones 5-9, mulch in colder climates and well drained soil BULB SIZE ABOUT 1 INCH IN DIAMETER, SMALL BULBS COMING DIRECTLY OUT OF PROPAGATION FLATS, DUE TO THE HIGH DEMAND FOR THIS LILY AND THE HUGE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO MY SMALL, FRESHLY PLANTED BULBS THERE IS NO GOOD REASON TO FIELD GROW THESE WHEN THEY WILL PROBABLY BE DESTROYED. BULBS WILL BE SHIPPED THIS FALL, STARTING IN OCTOBER TO THE COLDEST AREAS FIRST, WE CAN SHIP ALL WINTER TO MILD AREAS.NO SPRING SHIPPING, WE DO NOT HAVE THE FACILITIES SINCE LENGTHLY POWER OUTAGES ARE TOO COMMON AT THE FARM.
